Hot Chocolate in the oldest cafe in Venice

Always on the look out for visiting cafes and exploring new ideas , a recent trip to Venice led to what is probably the ultimate cafe experience.




Cafe Florian can be found in Piazza San Marco in Venice and can claim to be Italys first cafe, having been serving teas and coffees for 280 years




Opulent surroundings, frescoed walls and waiters who appear to have stepped back in time a century of two. I ordered hot chocolate which was rich, dark an luxurious ( in fact so rich it was was served with a glass of water )

An amazing experience and a must to visit should you find yourself in Venice !

Feis Rois , Ullapool

The weekend of the 2nd of May brings the adult Feis Rois to Ullapool , a 3 day feis ( gaelic for festival ) This will be the 19th annual Feis having began in Ullapool in 1986. The feis promises a range of classes for different abilities in Gaelic Language as well as traditional Scottish music, song, dance and culture. Classes are held daily over the long weekend by experts.
This years guest is Niall Keegan , top Irish Flautist. Its great to see the influx of people into Ullapool every year and see the village vibrant and thriving.
